Judie Mirra has dedicated her professional life to education. Her extensive experience working with young children and their families dovetailed with her deep knowledge of social science can help build a stronger community in Carmel and Mahopac. 

An educator with more than 36 years of experience, Judie pioneered innovative programs in reading, science and the environment. she and her team were awarded prestigious grants from Reader’s Digest, New York State Department of Education and the Westchester Teacher Center to fund these initiatives. 

As a leader in her teaching community, Judie represented her colleagues in Albany, advocating for policies and funding that would better serve students and teachers. Additionally, she served as President of the Greenburgh Teacher’s Federation in Greenburgh, New York where she played a pivotal role in contract negotiations and budget discussions.

Judie also brings extensive knowledge of recreation management, having served for more than 15 years as a day camp director for the Town of Greenburgh’s Parks and Recreation department and the White Plains YMCA/YWCA.

First and foremost, Judie's family is her heart. Having raised three daughters and now thoroughly enjoying the interests and talents of her three grandsons, Judie is passionate about giving children from all families the opportunity to succeed. 

Judie is a graduate of the College of New Rochelle, holding a Master's of Science in Early Childhood Education and Bachelor of Arts in Social Science.
